Question:

Like many of your reviewers I have just returned from Axpona. I watched Mr. Martin's YouTube summary and I'm sure there will be extensive Axpona coverage in an upcoming TAS but one manufacturer continues to intrigue me. If the past is any guide, I do not expect to be reading much about them. Last year in an after-hours demonstration, Grandinote showed their crossoverless ( is that a word ? ) speaker and audio equipment effortlessly hitting 115-120 dB levels. The sound was clean, the soundstage was wide and deep, vocals and instruments were consistently placed and sized and the bass was subterranean. This year they showed a smaller version of their speaker and in response to a question from me , they hit 110 dB of very good sound using the same equipment as the prior year. For me, for two years in a row, Grandinote has been the surprise of the show.
