Q: I'm in the process of putting together a dedicated listening room. I'm using an existing room but I am intending to extend the length and this in turn will allow me to do the following : replace one of the existing long walls (22' 3") in length with Acoustic Science's Iso wall system as well as the rear wall. The remaining front and the other long wall are and ceiling (8'1') are lath and plaster. I'll also be upgrading the outlets and installing a sub-panel with wiring per Robert Harley's decryption in his article detailing the building of his listening room in his article in AS #293. My question is about best practice in "tuning the room". I have to say I find myself struggling with the fear that I may not end up with the improvement that I want in making this move as I find myself confronted with uncertainty after uncertainty.
