Exclusive to our Substack subscribers, we host a weekly Q&A every Monday. Our team of veteran writers, reviewers, and editors hand select a few to answer every Friday. Perhaps you’re having trouble with a specific amplifier, or desire a deeper understanding of transmission line speakers, from the general to the specific, post your questions here and come back on Friday to see them answered!
Are subscribers' replies welcome or is this privilege reserved for staff? I have mixed emotions as I'd hate to see this turn into a "circus" of opinions, but I also think it might add to the participation of those of us with enough interest to subscribe.
We have see for decades linear tracking tonearms. Different versions & different technologies. Yet - they have never really met with general use on turntables. What have been the challenges in linear tracking tonearms in the audiophile world?
For my SME 20/2A (with Series V arm) I’m currently using the Benz Micro LP-S. I’ve been very please with it, the evver so slightly warm tonality, its resolution, and not least soundstage. But since I’ve upgraded all of my system, except for the Benz, over the last 5-6 years (to Gryphon Legato/Pandora/Mephisto/VIP, MIT Oracle SHD 120 BW, and Revel Salons - and the SME) I’m considering upgrading the Benz. I was decided on the Koetsu Rosewood Signature Platinum due to its midrange to die for, but, alas, my dealer informed me that Koetsu has ceased.

You are welcome to reply. Civility preferable, of course, as you suggest.
A Tonearm Question -

Thank you, CHRIS
Here’s an interesting discussion with Michael Fremer and JR Boisclair on linear tonearms https://youtu.be/F-jwc5qpnjY?si=_qcFDss0oHCDYPMk
Thanks for the link... As with most engineered solutions, there have to be compromises.

Any viable suggestions?
