Has a writer ever summarized a component's sonic favor like a fine wine in terms of what else it pairs with well . . . that organic symmetry between electronics . when the system disappears and that moment . you contemplate nothing but the music

Have any articles in the Absolute Sound discussed how to tactfully debate with a spouse and overcome wife acceptance factor for audio gear ? Methods to curry favor such as proper cable management and integration into decor ? How to enjoy playback at home and entice a wife into

a mutual experience together rather than devolving into a solitary experience?

I have a question regarding half speed mastering. I can see where an original 33 1/3 LP can be remastered from the original tape with a new lacquer and stamper cut at 16 2/3 RPM and then played back at 33 1/3 RPM. However I've seen LPs plated back at both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM called half speed mastered. Are they both from a lacquer cut at 16 2/3 RPM or is a second lacquer cut at 22 1/2 RPM for the LP played back at 45? I've been told that the speed at which the lacquer is cut has nothing to do with the speed of playback and this does not make sense to me.

Thanks
