Like many of your reviewers I have just returned from Axpona . I watched Mr. Martin's YouTube summary and I'm sure there will be extensive Axpona coverage in an upcoming TAS but one manufacturer continues to intrigue me . If the past is any guide , I do not expect to be reading much about them . Last year in an after-hours demonstration , Grandinote showed their crossoverless ( is that a word ? ) speaker and audio equipment effortlessly hitting 115-120 Db levels . The sound was clean , the soundstage was wide and deep , vocals and instruments were consistently placed and sized and the bass was subterranean . This year they showed a smaller version of their speaker and in response to a question from me , they hit 110Db of very good sound using the same equipment as the prior year .For me , for two years in a row , Grandinote has been the surprise of the show . I'm assuming someone from TAS has auditioned Grandinote and I was wondering about their reaction and what I might be missing . ps. I have no interest in Grandinote beyond curiosity .
