Exclusive to our Substack subscribers, we host a weekly Q&A every Monday. Our team of veteran writers, reviewers, and editors hand select a few to answer every Friday. Perhaps you’re having trouble with a specific amplifier, or desire a deeper understanding of transmission line speakers, from the general to the specific, post your questions here and come back on Friday to see them answered!
Few brands of cables, speakers, amps or DACs make products that are simply greater and lesser versions of the same priorities and capabilities, offering identically cost-effective results.
IF the brand is truly consistent, then aiming for all cables to be from the same brand is a worthy goal -- but because every component in a system is its own problem, and is always less-than-perfect (nothing is perfect), one-at-a-time system evolution can be a series of productive and enjoyable upgrades prior to "arrival" at all cables being from one brand.
Is it better to use one company for all cabling and speaker wire ? To stay within the same family of sound ?
Maybe, maybe not.
