Exclusive to our Substack subscribers, we host a weekly Q&A every Monday. Our team of veteran writers, reviewers, and editors hand select a few to answer every Friday. Perhaps you’re having trouble with a specific amplifier, or desire a deeper understanding of transmission line speakers, from the general to the specific, post your questions here and come back on Friday to see them answered!
Soon I will be perusing your observations from the Munich showings. While I really enjoy seeing what's new, as well and your comments, I view them with a slightly skeptical bias. I've no doubt than when there is glowing praise it's well deserved. My skepticism pertains to those comments that are not as positive. This is based upon the fact that many of the systems are presented in a less than stellar environment and I'm guessing that many setups are less than ideal. I largely base this upon my perception that almost every piece of gear I've auditioned and subsequently purchased have sounded better in my home than at the dealer. I know that if I listened to so many different systems in such a short time span, my brain (or what's left of it) would probably turn into mush. Don't even your "Golden Ears" suffer at least a bit of listening fatigue? Feel free to point out my shortcomings regarding my observations and assumptions. I'm a big fan of you guys, and your insights are always helpful.
